They are only seen as creepy if they are not either good looking, rich and/or famous.
Example: I highly doubt George Clooney has ever been called creepy.
if a rich old guy is walking around college campuses trying to talk to students, i dont think him being rich is going to shield him from being stigmatized, because all the people around campus will just see an old guy trying to talk to women. no ones going to ask to see his bank account, and even if they do see his bank account, rich men will still be stigmatized for it if the community at large finds out. michael jackson's another good example. alot of people say that he wasnt even really molesting kids, but because he was hanging around kids, they saw him as being creepy. 99% of people, with or without evidence is not really going to question those accusations. rob lowe also still has this shadow hanging over him, despite all the years that has passed since he was dating young girls. the famous men who mess around with young women are usually doing it in a low profile way. the fact that they have to do is covertly just goes to show that people easily jump to the conclusion
They may think he is a professor and treat him with some degree of respect.

Michael Jackson acted weird and sounded 'gay', and liked to have kids around him. So of course people were suspicious. This was also back when men didn't want to be considered homosexual and many people thought realized that it was a perversion.
Just because he liked having kids around him doesn't mean shit, look at all these women who have kids around them, yet you have a ton of women teachers getting caught in sex scandels with their students and half of those women are attractive white women in their early 20s and some even in their 30s.
I was just commenting on why people suspected Michael Jackson, not whether he was guilty or not.
Yeah well its old news anyway, the man was poisoned and died in 2009. f**k people.

this is true. a woman with a bunch of young kids may be seen as taking care of the kids, whereas a man is assumed to be a predator. not always but this is a common pattern of people jumping to conclusions

Even teenagers and college boys are often perceived as creepy by other girls if they do something as simple as staring blankly into space when they're stressed (something I'd occasionally do as well). Girls would sometimes mistake that for a creepy stare.
its true about the looking. women are definitely more free to look at men they like. men for the most part have been shamed from an early age not to look at women. its almost considered harasment when a man looks at women
