This is how you get English subtitles:

Find a video that has 'cc'.

Click on settings and click on "subtitles: Russian- auto-generated".

Click on Auto Translate in the new window. Scroll to choose the language. Click on English.

Click on cc to turn subtitles on.

The series are mostly in Russian because the market is bigger and they sell them to other Russian speaking countries, plus many people in Russia watch them.
